A new kitchen and hall extension for the Carinity Aged Care facility, which provides more room for the aged residents to participate in regular outdoor and cooking activities.

CLIENT:

Carinity Shalom

LOCATION:

Rockhampton, QLD

Design and Architecture was engaged to assist Carinity Care with their renovation and additional works to their existing community hall on their North Rockhampton lifestyle centre. A new kitchen was added to the existing hall. The hall itself was refurbished be more functional, including the two male and female toilets that were also reconfigured, as well as an outdoor area for activities. The new kitchen was added to face and serve into the existing hall and also serves out into the new covered area – so all the areas are linked to each other and work together as one.

The stage was reconfigured to create direct access to the amenities behind it – the toilets have disabled accessibility and are better suited for the aging population. Also a new library shelf was designed and built to be more efficient and better suited to their purposes.
